Unlike my other books, The Advantage is not written as a fable because the nature of the subject it covers is just too broad to fit into one story. In the past, I've taken on slightly more contained and limited issues--teamwork, meetings, employee engagement--but this time I'm taking a much more holistic, comprehensive approach to improving organizations. Still, I've used stories about real organizations to bring the points to life, and I'm hoping that readers enjoy those stories and find them helpful in learning and applying the principles.

Regardless this book has some great information in an easy to read format. But the more I read in depth, the more I learned. Frankly, the only 'downside' to this book is I wish their had been a bit more technical discussion in regards to pilot cutter designs and designers, but that is purely a personal 'niggle' that most readers would not consider either necessary, or perhaps even desirable. This would have been valuable in helping novices learn to look for more than just one symbol, as in the above description where our attention is drawn to the positioning of the squirrel and goldfinch, with meaning given. 1.
