The book gives us excellent recipes for all and only classic bistro cooking with wonderfully informative comments and instructions. See, the thing about this book is that it pumps you up. In general worth it.. Disclosure: I know the author’s sister, but have never met the author, or had I ever met Randy Simmons.
That said, it doesn’t matter how many degrees of separation are between me and the author, Lisa Simmons – whether zero or a hundred, the book is a WOW! It is categorized as a biography/autobiography/memoir. I feel the author missed a good opportunity to leave us with the tension feeding on lingering doubts about the moral implications of such research, expanding the isolated warehouse-style enumeration of such concerns earlier in the book, that never really figured into the plot.
